Happy May Currently

I am shocked I am saying that it's May... Don't get me wrong, I'm thrilled to be saying it, but still shocked. It's been a crazy couple of weeks in our house, and if any of you stopped by for my Five for Friday post this last week you know that Baby Bentin arrived early!  All is well, however I'm still not sure which way I'm moving and when is day or night!  Please be patient as I slowly get back into blogging, especially since I won't be at school to be able to share the awesomeness that is happening! Since I've taken a million pictures already and I'm one proud Mommy!!! Enjoy a little snap shot of my little man, Hudson!

I'm excited to be linking up with Farley for the currently linky that she does every month!  :)  Happy May everyone.

Listening-  We decided to get our roof replaced this spring.. little did we know that it would happen exactly as we were trying to transition to life with a newborn.  Needless to say we survived. The last few shingles were just being put up and nailed down as I was writing this.  Yesterday was a different story, but I am happy to report that the little man can sleep through almost anything (well during the day that is!)

Loving-  I have been cooped up in the hospital and house since April 18th.  Man, it feels like forever, however the light at the end of the tunnel is in sight.  I am looking at the forecast and seeing that Thursday might get to 80!!!!  I'm so excited to get out and about and get some fresh air.

Thinking-  Today was supposed to be my due date with Baby Bentin.  He is over two weeks old already, which is crazy to think about!  He is healthy and all is well, so I'm looking at it as bonus time we got to spend with him.  Now if we could only take care of that adorable crying that he does all night!

Wanting-  I have not bought myself any clothes since before I was pregnant, and I'm so ready to do some retail therapy!!!  I'm so wanting some new and fresh spring and summer clothes!  I'm sure my husband isn't thrilled that this is on my mind, as he's just seeing $$$$.  Where are your favorite places to shop??

Needing- I'm a little behind on all things right now that don't have to do with a newborn.  I have piles all over my house, laundry is backing up and the we won't even bring that up.  The one thing that I really really really need to do is write thank you notes.  Once I get started I will be fine, but it's sitting down to actually do it! I need motivation!!

Surprise-  Jennifer from Mrs. Laffin's Laughings is my surprise today.  Jennifer is not only a co-worker of mine, but a friend.  She got me started with this little blog and I am so in love with it.  She has been there to help with along the way, and also is a great support to me and my students at school. She has great ideas and is always willing to help out with anything that you may need. I love her new 'Positive Thinking Thursday' linky that she has going.  Be sure to check it out!!!

Have a very happy last full month of school to everyone!

Five-for-Friday- A Baby has Arrived!!!!

Happy Friday everyone! I'm happy to be back for a really quick post today to share some awesome exciting news.  I have been non-existent on the blog world and for good reason. Thursday before Easter weekend was my last day with my kiddos at work and then Friday morning I went into labor!  Yes, yes.. I was just as shocked as pretty much everyone else in my life was. Hudson Richard was born at 2:52 PM Friday April 18th.  He weighed in at 5lbs 13 oz and was 18 1/2 inches long.  After a very quick labor, (and those contractions are no joke!)  it ended in an emergency c-section. So that is why I've been held up on the big announcement. Everyone is fine now, but let me tell you things sure can change from one instant to the next and it was scary!  I wanted to share my favorite 5 favorite moments with my new son, Hudson for my Five for Friday post!  I hope everyone has an amazing weekend.

I'm liking up with Doodle Bugs Teaching for this linky----Five for Friday! I just love stopping by to see what everyone has been up to. Hopefully I'll get the chance to catch up on what you have all been doing!

Our first family picture together!

Hudson came on Friday April 18th.. We spent Easter in the hospital! :) He was smaller than his basket.

When we arrived home, he didn't like the light!  His eyes were covered most of the first few days!

Big 'sister' Ellie the dog is loving keeping watch on Hudson!

A great first 'mothers' gift... a personalized necklace for me to wear! Check out Younique Soul if you're interested in seeing some more personalized home decor and gifts!!!

Have a happy happy weekend, and please be patient with me as I make this transition into motherhood.  I will be back to blog as soon as I get some sleep... ;)  Hopefully sooner than later!
