Currently February

Apparently I can't get away from the computer today.. I've been sucked into the blog world!!  I'm linking up for the first time with Farley from Oh' Boy Fourth Grade for her awesome monthly linky Currently February! I'm excited to take some time to do some reading to see what everyone is currently up to, how fun!!

Listening-  it's basketball season so that means my husband is glued to the TV every other day to cheer on the Badgers. I don't mind it just is kinda funny to hear him 'talk' to the TV as well as to himself as the game is going on!

Loving-  It's Winterfest today in Lake Geneva where I live.  Even though we've already gotten about 3ish inches of snow this morning (and there could be a lot more coming) we're breaking out of the house to go check it out.  I'm excited because there is an ice sculpture competition that goes on every year for this and that's my favorite part.  People from all over the country come to be a part of it! The sculptures are amazing!! I'll be sure to take some pics to share later.

Thinking- Since we're getting out, my to-do list isn't going to get done today, which isn't a huge deal, but finding motivation lately has been hard for me and my preggo belly!!!  I'm 27 weeks today and starting to feel some tiredness to go along with just my normal everyday stuff.  I know it's all part of it, but when motivation hits you have to take advantage.  Good thing the hubby can be put to work! There's always tomorrow!

Wanting-  I so desperately want some warm sun to touch my face! This polar vortex has been crazy hard, and not seeing the sun has been even harder than usual.  I'm ready for SPRING! Enough said!

Needing-  I started off strong getting things ready for the baby, but slowly the piles have started to accumulated!  I need to get going on this baby room so I feel less stressed about it.  The goal is this next weekend to arrange furniture and get a few things on the walls.  It won't be complete, but at least there won't be clothes, pictures and books all over the place! :)

Two Truths and a Fib-
1- TRUE- Last year was our year of travel/fun before trying to get pregnant.  We went to Mexico in January, Florida in March, I went to Arizona in June and lastly we ended summer with a trip to Vegas. I love to travel!!  Nothing on the docket this year.... Hmmmmm I wonder why?!!!
2- FALSE- I have 14 kids in my class this year.  At one point I was down to 13 though.  I had 3 students leave and then just a couple of weeks ago one came.  Super small class this year.  Not my smallest though, one year I was down to 11 by Christmas!!!!
3-TRUE- If I wasn't a teacher I think I would be in some sort of advertising.  Call me crazy but I love commercials.  I'm not one to fast forward them unless I'm in a hurry to watch a show!

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  Excited to link up and read your responses!

  1. I'm you newest follower! Congrats on your pregnancy! What's you theme for your baby room? I am sitting here in shock at your class size. I always love hearing what it's like to teach in other places. Kudos to the admin who let your class be so small. In Oregon our class sizes are huge - this year I have 32 kids students. It's a bit on the crazy side! I hope you have fun outing.

    1. Thanks for stopping by, Laura! Thanks for the congrats, my husband and I are thrilled, but of course a bit nervous...first time parents here!!! We don't really have a theme for the nursery because we don't know what we're having, but I'm loving everything about animal patterns I see. A great big owl watching over or a tree with animals all around. When we registered that's what I was leaning towards. I work in a district with SAGE. That allows K-3 classroom sized to be capped out around 18 students. Our district tries really hard to keep that closer to 16, obviously there are always exceptions, but this year it seems to be with me because I'm on the small end. I can't imagine having 32 kiddos in my class... I bet it's crazy at times, but I'm sure you do great with it! :) Have a great weekend!!

  2. Hey Ana! I went from 35 at my previous school to 19! It's so nice. I truly feel like I can differentiate and meet the kiddos where they truly are! Have fun getting ready for the baby! My daughter is obsessed with babies and luckily 3 of my friends had babies in the last 6 months so she gets to be an older sister to them!

  3. Hi Ana,

I love your blog! Congrats on the pregnancy. Hope it all goes well.

You are lucky to have only 14 students. We have SAGE at some of the schools in our district, but my school doesn't qualify.

How was Winterfest? I've been to Lake Geneva for vacations - I love walking on that path around the lake and dreaming about living in one of those mansions.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend-

  4. Hi Ana! Wow- 14 students? That is insane to me. I got up to 28 third graders this year, 10 of which are ELs. I love them all, but wish I could give them all the attention they all need- but it's so hard with so many! What is SAGE? I've never heard of it! I hope your pregnancy continues to go well... Congrats!!
